Jacob R. Berry

Jacob comes from a military family in which his mother and his father attended the United States Military Academy of West Point, New York. He has lived in numerous states as a result of being a child of veterans, including Pennsylvania, Colorado, Illinois, Georgia, and South Carolina. Regardless of the consistent moves from state to state throughout his upbringing, Jacob views this positively, as he believes the periodic transitions helped him develop strong, personable skills that allow him to adapt to new circumstances and to connect with various people of different backgrounds in a welcoming, cordial way. The divorce of Jacob’s parents allows him to further connect with family members dealing with legal issues on a sympathetic level, as he understands the emotional struggle that comes with many family legal matters. From Jacob’s perspective, no family matter is too big or too minute; if it is important in the client’s eyes, it is worthy of attention and commitment in Jacob’s eyes.

While attending the University of Connecticut to major in Political Science and Economics, Jacob developed substantial skills in analysis and reasoning. He possesses a strong attention to detail, as he readily understands the importance of proper and timely drafting and filing of legal documentation like Financial Affidavits, various motions, and the like. His preparedness ensures that legal documents are confidentially secure while being accessible to respective attorneys and clients alike. Jacob has worked as a paralegal for just over two years now, and he aspires to attend law school to become a family law attorney himself. He seeks to utilize the growing knowledge of legal policies and procedures to be prepared for law school and, ultimately, as an attorney.

Outside of the office, he is raising awareness of the importance of issues facing Type 1 Diabetics, like himself; spending quality time with friends from college and his boyfriend; and watching college football and basketball. While a fan of the University of Connecticut Huskies, Jacob is truly devoted to the Clemson Tigers and the Cleveland Browns in deference to his big sister and his late grandfather respectively.
